Why isn't it on them internets? UPDATE: So I just got myself a physical copy. Yeah, of course it's great. Didn't need to wait like a month to hear it, though, but I'm glad I got to.
That's how you know you made a true classic. Thank you for spawning a generation of non-distinct pretend-depressed, semi-fuzzy revivalists.

Now, I know that I might appear to you as a typical die hard fan who is willing to praise the record before it's even rreleased, but hear me out, please. This is easily my favourite album of the year and one that made me a definite King rGizzard fan.
This album features some of KGnLW's best tunes thus far, and best instrumentation too. From beginning to rend it will pump your blood to a point of heart attack due to the pressure. I really love that main theme of the album rthat is repeated constantly throughout the duration of the record. And each time this tune pops up it is reimagined to rcompletely different sound and structure. And all of the songs are pasted into each other so well that it feels like one rlooooooong song that won't let you go. Maybe it is just me, but I believe that this album deserves all 10/10.
RAnd as their Bandcamp page says: 'Play it on infinite loop.' And it makes sense. As I mentioned earlier, it ris basically one song with one tune that is constantly remade under different influences and you won't have a slightest rfeeling of boredom, because it is so cohesive, versatile and varieted that you will indeed want to put it on infinite rloop until your ears will bleed.rAnd now, kids, quickly go here, before they it from early access: Et tu, butcher? It's official, lads: Sputnik's Home Post-Punk Maester's SEAL of APPROVAL. Sputnik's home post-punk maester's SEAL of APPROVAL 4.5 superb I don't really know what to say about this one. It has amazing atmosphere, great instrumentation and well sang vocals. Give it a listen.
(Just remember that a song Condition features some kind of underworked Isaac Albeniz cover or something.it really sounded like guitar version of Asturias with like a half less chords) Hol' up, so you mean to tell me that Eve was merely a B-Side? Doof, he's wearing her outfit and holding her head.
It is love, who knew. Roses are red.
Violets are blue. Butch, you hate fun things, You know that it's true. If yous think this is too superficial leftie political, you haven't heard the new War on Women or Svalbard.
Is this some kind of teaser for something much bigger that is yet to come? Cause you got me in for sure. Morse-English Translation: The title means 'Absence' I mean, it's Nils Frahm and co., what project DID he fail? This thing will drag you in and won't let go until you play it again and again for like a dozen times. (Plus, it may be possible that I'm too big of an Industrial Post-Punk fan) sputnik's home post-punk maester's SEAL of APPROVAL Thankfully, I only start working on my year-end list after the year is over.you know, as a normal person would. Potato Recording Company present their magnum opus. Possibly the most soulful and personal album this month.
Besides the lyrics I also liked a lot the acoustics that are oftenly replaced with these Lo-Fi noisy guitars. A musical equivalent of a slaughterhouse. Possibly the heaviest record I've heard this year so far.
This is basically if The New Pornographers went Art-Prog. This is a great bloodpumping Hard-Rock record with a lot of great hooks, melodies and overall enjoyable. It's some kind of mix of last year's Baroness and Graveyard, so if you liked those, you'll enjoy the shit out of this aswell. Probably the only negative thing is that some songs just end immediately after a great build up. Outside of that, it's great.
Have you ever encountered an album that you found to be the closest to musical perfection? To me it very well may be 50 Song Memoir by The Magnetic Fields. Everything, from the concept, songwriting, lyrics and instrumentation is near perfect and ingeniusly crafted together. Each song is filled with emotions and attitude the man behind the song, Stephin Merritt, had at the time he talks about in these songs.
And the musical and production component also perfectly carries the atmosphere and the life-situation he was a tthe time he describes in these songs. When he decided to start a band, nobody from the collective couldn't afford any proper instruments or recording, so the song also sounds very much amateurish (The BLizzard of 78).
In the 80s he got a synthesiser, so each track is filled with a lot of synthesiser sounds (like How to Play a Synthesiser). When he describes theories of ethical science, the music is dreamy and almost cosmic (How I Failed Ethics). The musicianship-lyrical relationship goes so perfectly hand-to-hand that the it allows the listener to imagine the world Stephin was probably living in at the time.
Some songs are quirky (London By Jetpack), some angry (Life Ain't All Bad), some are moving (Foxx and I), some heartwarming (Me and Fred and Dave and Ted) and some may even make you cry (A Cat Called Dionysus). Undoubtedly, the weirdness and silly nature of some tracks may scare some people off (Happy Beeping); and I do believe that around the section in around late 80s and early 90s is a bit lackluster, but only compared to the others; besides I also believe that the closer, Somebody's Fetish, does not really work as a closer, but that is because this memoir is ongoing and does not need a grandiose finale. But this album is still simply a rollercoaster of emotions and I am glad I've heard it. P.S.: Is it just that the version I listened to had some defect or is Me and Fred and Dave and Ted on the album really absolutely different song than the single? King Gizzard meet the 60s Psychedelic Pop 4.0 excellent Aight, this is it, we found 2018 Doofcore. UPDATE: Doof, even in 2018 releases you love only the old stuff.
Simply said, it's good and interesting Electropop with a bunch of magnetising beats and though I'm not exactly happy with the vocals, I can't really imagine any other. Okay, there's instant boner and then there's whatever anime-like power blasting errrrrectile cannon shot I had, when I saw that Behemoth have a new album coming. EDIT: bloody live albums!
For those of you who, after listening to The Architect, wanted more. The 4.0est record out there, apparently Ain't that what they call mind-bending. What are you on about, butch? Mesmerising oddball, electronic and occasionally instrumental Weird-Rock. They're becoming like Woody Allen of music industry, releasing an album every year, always with your usual GbV style and craft, but year after year less and less noteworthy substance. There are a lot of hairy styles on here.
That's a real peculiar stance, Doof, considering you liked that Friedberger horse and Cigarettes After Sex. EDIT: Sinternet, as much as I agree with you on the quality of Julia's otherworldly music, you are instigating an infringment of these gentlemen's rights to free speech and I will not stand for it.
I shall join you, Doofus of the Wainwrights, let's keep Brand New off the top of the chart. Butcherbabe, ily, but fuck off yourself right now and fuck cyclotron placing bets on who's the next album going to be about: Vivaldi, the composer Manger, the poet Gaudi, the architect. And as I realised that this has now become un1able, I got an uncontrollable urge to downgrade it to all hells. The universe is merciful today even if they fart on it for 40 straight minutes, it'll still be better than their previous album, as long as they don't try to go industrial This is some mesmerising and really psychopathic IDM that I surprisingly ejoyed a lot. I am usually not good with this kind of Electronica, but this EP just gripped me with its addictive beats and noisy production.
A lot of nice beats and catchy Dancepop melodies. Although I did expect something a tiny bit more experimental after that intro.
Just felt like it builds up to something different. This is an earscrewing piece of Noise Rock that does feature a lot of really catchy and interesting tunes and music, but is also so long that, with the kind of production it has, it will burn your head out. After listening, I had only one question 'What?
What the heck?' Entire title of the EP: Film Soundtrack for Banjo, Emulated Woodwinds, and Percussion This is some genuinely sweet Psychedelic Pop. And maybe I didn't always necessarily liked that non-chalant easy-going music, I still found a lot of the content on this record to be fairly entertaining, so do check it out. Ah, so nice to have you back, guys. We missed you. Somewhat similar to Beacon, but way more ambitious and explosive and with better vocals I'd say. However, I can't say that the tunes themselves and the lyrical structure were absolutely great.
They definitely give less than they could have theoretically, despite the great beats and the production. You people are weird. I usually tend to dislike things that make me fall asleep, but this is the nicest way to do so. It seems to me like Ty Segall just said 'Screw it, we don't need a studio to make an album, let's go to my garage like in the old days.' It's always nice to hear some well written and well performed Indie Folk. 3.5 great Okay, Rhesus Negative might be the greatest thing ever. How much free time do you have on your hands to do all this?
Well, it definitely is a nice listen, but I don't see a whole lot of people enjoying it for the most part. It's something like The Wedding Present and such. Just very soft, easy and pretty. I liked their previous album quite a bit. I like this one too, but for all the different reasons. While Oshin was fun and definitely listenable, it lacked any actual distinct momentum or appeal for me.
Well, this one is trying to improve that and is not as memorable instead. A small warning: the singer has a slightly funny Danish accent. Normally I'd probably dislike the idea of soft female vocals on a Black Metal record, but here it's just well pasted together. When the vocals do pop up they sound like a nice and atmospheric change from that epic and landscapic (irony, cause it is called LandLESS, but.well.whatever, nevermind) and very detailed sound. However, here's the thing, it does seem to me that at times the only actual reason why the music calms down and is a little more ambient is because otherwise the vocals would be simply unhearable during the regular sections of the record. But then again, it does sound nice occasionally. 2017: A Fabulous Odyssey Alright, look, an epic music is not the one where you stretch a repetative instrumental on a long runtime.
Though I do appreciate the effort put into the play, it does get a little boring at times. This album puts 'I knocked up my girlfriend at 19 years of age' into dad rock. It's definitely listenable. The tunes are good and occasionally that psychedelic atmosphere kicks in and even the vocals are okay. But almost every song ends abruptly and with nothing. Like as if the band accidentally released some demos that they wanted to finish later. This gives Pole Younger a run for his money.
I think they just threw in everything that they already had from their previous albums. Just some leftovers mixed in together. Kvelertak's newest release features a lot of nice instrumentation and a cool throwback vibe. But I guess I was just indifferent towards the production and pasting. To me it seemed kind of flat and uninteresting.
And I also find the tunes to be pretty dull occasionally (when the main guitar riff isn't popping uup). Though I do recommend this album, if you like some good Heavy Metal. This one's just not for me. She's smiling, because she finally figured out how to make an album out of more than one musical idea. I do understand what they were going for with that slightly underproduced sound, I guess it was supposed to be something like a psychedelic throwback to the roots of the genre, but at times it just bended in together and sounded like a noise. Outside of that, it's pretty good. It's short and it's on Bandcamp, so check it out.
